SIParCS 2009
Over the summer of 2009 I participated in the NCAR CISL SIParCS internship program.
My project focused on reducing the memory footprint of various lookup tables in CCSM, more specifically, tables in CAM and WACCM. The end result was a prototype implementation of what I call a Distributed Lookup Table.
I presented my final work on August 5th, 2009 at the NCAR main seminar room. CISL has a page up with my picture, abstract, and link to the slides of my final presentation. Also, there is a list of all of the presentations from the 2009 SIParCS program as well.
It was a great experience that I would highly recommend to anyone considering applying. The mentors were great, the other interns were great, the location was spectacular, and I actually managed to get some fun interesting work done!
